Purple Mayonnaisery

I am excited to have this display of my work included in Paul Nudd's Purple Mayonnaisery group show at Western Exhibitions in Chicago. It features selections Paul Nudd's personal collection of my printed works, as well as postcards & other artwork I have sent him in the mail over the past decade. This is a great looking show, lots of terrific artists, and a second gallery of Paul Nudd's uncollected drawings! The exhibit opened July 31st and runs until August 28th.

Kramers Ergot #8

It looks like Kramers Ergot #8 is finally hitting the shelves, go ask about it at your local comic shop or bookstore! I have an 8 page story in there alongside awesome cartoonists like Gary Panter, CF, Ben Jones, Johnny Ryan, and more! I think it's a solid issue of good art comix reading, plus some cosmic airbrush & digital art, and Oh Wicked Wanda reprints!
Here's a good review up at The Comics Journal website!

Your Planet

I have a bunch of original art in a group show opening Friday the 15th at the People's Art of Portland gallery Suite 4005 on the Third floor at the Pioneer Square Mall, 700 SW Fifth, downtown Portland.
There are receptions with refreshments on both Friday & Saturday nights, April 15th & 16th, from 5 until 10pm. Go check it out!
It is a pretty random assortment of comics-type artists, include Portlanders James Michael Williams, Farel Dalrymple, and Aron Nels Steinke, as well as (according to the flyer image) the greats Rick Veitch and Ramona Fradon!

Running Water

I drew a guest strip for Jesse Reklaw's Slow Wave, go and take a look! Jesse colored my black & white artwork, and it looks good. The strips have a continuity, however bizarre, so go back into the archives and start reading, uh, somewhere...

Thanks to everyone at STAPLE in Austin that came by the Sparkplug table & picked up The Heavy Hand! It was great to hear Mack White & Al Frank talk about comics, Texas, and their years in both.

Kramers Ergot 7

Here are some not-too-helpful sneak previews of my 2 page full-color comic in the newest issue of Kramers Ergot. It will be debuting this weekend at the A.P.E.
I will be there, signing books at the Buenaventura Press table on Saturday from 12 to 1, with Johnny Ryan,
and again on Sunday from 11 to 12 with Jaime Hernandez & Sammy Harkham.
Come by & get a giant book signed, or a smaller booklet.
The rest of the time I will probably be loitering at the Sparkplug Comic Books table, selling whatever minicomics I can sneak onto the table. Maybe a new issue of Stun Nuts?

Gene Siskel's Ghost

Hello blog readers! If you are in Portland Oregon this week, pick up a copy of the free weekly Portland Mercury. Hopefully your copy includes an insert booklet promoting a sexy movie/art festival thing called SEX PDX. Somewhere in this magazine, between the adult entertainment & smoke shop ads you can find 2 pages of comics, written by Greg Petix, and drawn by Elijah Brubaker & Bobby Madness, and colored by yours truly.
I really enjoyed coloring the original art(!) of these two terrific cartoonists, hopefully the fun shows when you are drunkenly reading them while waiting for the MAX.

Sperm Trek

I drew this page for Trevor Blake's magazine OVO
(issue #15:Sperm) a few years ago. I believe all issues are downloadable from his website.
